Sibling Rivalry is the first joint exhibition of work by the brothers David and Eric Storey, and will include paintings and prints that represent recent developments in their artistic interests and directions. Where, or whether, their practices complement or contradict one another will be up to the viewer to decide.

David Storey studied at Hornsey College of Art (now Middlesex University) and spent the first part of his career working as an art director in the music industry. His best known works from this period are the iconic designs he produced for the cult group The Specials and their record label Two Tone.

His more recent works deal with the theme of 'figures in space' which have been described as having ‘a mood of haunting stillness’.

Recent exhibitions include joint shows at The Brighton Museum and Art Gallery and the Cork Street Gallery, London.

"My pictures tend to start life as a found-image, an old family snap shot for instance, which starts me on a journey of exploration, development and ultimate discovery. I'm particularly interested in the dynamic between figures, and how this is affected by the environment they are set in."

Eric Storey graduated with a first class degree from the Sir John Cass School of Art, Media and Design (London Metropolitan University) and is currently studying for an MA in Visual Arts (Printmaking) at Camberwell College of Arts. His work has been exhibited widely in the UK and in Japan.

“Image-making exposes me directly to the question of meaning: how is it possible, and who decides? … I am interested in archetypes, myths and rites, and in the anxieties and ambiguities that underlie our conventionalised forms of behaviour and expression. I am interested in the things we encounter, and the things we do, in our dreams."
