Press Release : AW10 collection All about Eve
Eve Lin will be launching her debut womenswear collection “All about Eve” at the Coningsby
Gallery, 30 Tottenham Street, from the 28th of February to the 6th of March.
The autumn / winter 2010 collection is actually inspired by menswear tailoring and stitching
techniques and is made with men’s formalwear fabrics. The designs are in a range of greys with
lighter grey embroidery.
The collection is presented through static exhibition on hangers and manikin.
The hidden stitching style of men’s suiting construction is used as external tracery on the dresses
to subtly shadow outlines of absent pockets and other suiting features.
It is a minimal and structured women’s couture in a bold and confident style, emphasising
exquisite tailoring and beautiful hand stitching.
Asian born, Eve Lin graduated in 2009 from Central St.Martins being awarded an MA in fashion
womenswear.
In April 2009, Eve showed her first initial collection in her MA degree exhibition. The
collection featured eight silhouettes inspired by menswear tailored details. Shown as a static
exhibition the collection was in display of creating minimalism to consist with her style and
inspiration.
After the degree collection, Eve has received great interested and support from the industry in
Asia.
In the following collection in 2010, she has continued the concept from the initial collection in
2009 and to bring more refine works and a fresh look for her debut collection.
