BA Hons: Editorial and Advertising Photography Degree Show Exhibition / University of Gloucestershire
–
Opening Times Monday to Saturday 10.30am to 6pm
This exhibition presents the final year Editorial and Advertising photography students from the University of Gloucestershire. Showcasing a range of photographic and moving image work from emerging photographers that have been developed over the entirety of the course and their final year.
The projects explore a variety of subjects and genres, including portraiture, fashion, product, sport, automotive, still life, architecture, maternity; all of which demonstrate how editorial and advertising photography can both communicate and shape visual ideas.
Working across all types of processes, many of the exhibited works experiment with lighting, styling, sequencing, and post production to emphasise the role of creative direction within photographic practice. Moving image pieces further expand these approaches, incorporating time, sound and narrative to create an atmospheric experience.
As a cohort, the artists bring together a wide range of perspectives and influences, that reflect their individual interests whilst representing a culmination of their studies; marking the transition from education into professional practice.
After three years of study, the Editorial and Advertising students have worked incredibly hard to make this exhibition happen during their last year of university. The past year has involved them independently developing their projects, to then working collaboratively to curate, sequence and install the show. It is a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talent and they look forward to taking these next steps in their journeys.
Visitors are invited to engage with the work, to see the showcase of emerging talent and the exploration of how photography continues to evolve within the editorial and advertising spaces. Together, their works offer an insight into the creative, technical and conceptual approaches to shaping the next generation of image-makers.
