Minty Sainsbury / Surfaces of Time
–
Opening Times
Tues 1st - Sat 5th Dec / 11am - 6pm Wed 2nd Dec / 11am - 7pm
When we encounter a building or an artwork, we often ask: How old is it? How long did this take? Both questions reveal how instinctively we use time to understand what we see. Across six series, Minty Sainsbury explores the time held in architecture and the act of making. Weathered surfaces carry the marks of a building’s history, while layers of graphite and worn pencils give physical form to time spent drawing.
Minty Sainsbury is a London-based British artist and architecture graduate of the University of Cambridge. She has worked full-time as an artist since 2015, and Surfaces of Time is her sixth solo exhibition. Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2024, 2025 and 2026, the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2026 and the John Ruskin Prize 2026.
